ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION-UNDER GRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE TRAINING FOR THE 2023/2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) was established as a Public University on 22nd May, 2018 under provisions of Section 14 of the Higher Education Act, No. 4 of 2013, by way of Statutory Instrument No. 39 and 40 of 2018. The University offers education and training programmes for health professionals.

Applications are invited from candidates wishing to study in the following Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees offered in different Schools of the University for the 2023/2024 Academic Year.

School Leaver Direct Entry Applicants:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science.

Advanced Diploma Applicants:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science.

2.    A relevant certificate or Diploma qualification from a recognized institution.

3.    Practicing Certificate from the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) or General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNC).

A-Level Applicants:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science;

2.    ‘A’ levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics from a recognized Institution with an average grade B may be considered for Degree Programmes and may earn exemptions.

MBCHB Third Year Applicants:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science;


2.    ‘A’ levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics from a recognized Institution with an average grade B pass.


3.    Pre-Clinical Training.

BSc Holder Applicants:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science;


2.    Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant science programme or a Health Professions-related discipline may be considered for Degree Programmes and may earn exemptions.

Graduate Entry:

1.    A full Grade Twelve School Certificate or GCE with 5 credits or better, four of which must be English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Science;
2.    Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant science programme or a Health Professions-related discipline for masters programmes.
3.    Master of Science Degree in a relevant science programme or a Health Professions-related discipline for masters programmes.
